Deep Plough Agricultural Cooperative Society Limited, founded by the youth of Ward 17, Pumula North, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, is dedicated to transforming African agriculture through innovative and sustainable services. Our work empowers farmers, vendors, retailers, organizations, and communities, driving economic growth and food security across the continent.

Our Services

• Manufacturing and Distributing Solar Dryers: We design and produce solar dryers to enable sustainable post-harvest processing, reducing food waste and creating high-value products like dried fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Our dryers are distributed at affordable rates, with training to maximize their impact.
• Value-Added Services: We process and package agricultural goods, using solar dryers and other technologies, to enhance market value. From dried crops to organic and certified products, we help our members and partners access premium markets.
• Affordable Agricultural Inputs: We supply high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides at subsidized rates, facilitating bulk purchasing to reduce costs for farmers.
• Innovative Agricultural Solutions: We provide access to smart technologies, such as precision farming tools and irrigation systems, alongside our solar dryers, to boost productivity and sustainability.
• Agricultural Education and Training Programs: We train 500 members annually in modern farming techniques, solar dryer operation, and agribusiness management, fostering skills for a sustainable future.
• Access to Profitable Markets: We connect members to local, regional, and international markets, including export opportunities, as demonstrated by our success in Zimtrade’s Eagles Nest Program. We negotiate fair trade prices for fresh and processed products.
• Job Creation and Employment Opportunities: We create at least 100 jobs annually through roles in solar dryer manufacturing, distribution, and other cooperative activities, supporting entrepreneurship in agribusiness.
• Community Service and Social Responsibility: We support at least three community initiatives yearly, such as distributing solar dryers to underserved areas and promoting food security, aligning with our Certificate of Excellence for Sustainable Development Goal Award received on May 24, 2025.
• Supply Chain and Marketing Support: We provide storage, transportation, and distribution services for fresh and solar-dried products, alongside marketing strategies to enhance market visibility.
• Mobilization of Human Resources: We engage members and communities in cooperative activities, building skilled networks to support operations and development.

Our Commitment

Our services are designed to achieve our goals of increasing agricultural productivity by 15% and member incomes by 20% over five years. Recognized with the Certificate of Excellence for Sustainable Development Goal Award at the Bulawayo Business Awards on May 24, 2025, and excelling in Zimtrade’s inaugural Eagles Nest Pitching Program, Deep Plough is a leader in sustainable agriculture.
